Search-Specific Google Researcher Program Terms of Service

Last updated: August 8, 2023

Google Search-related data made available under the Google Research Program is provided through Google's Search Researcher Result API ("SRR API").

(A) By using the SRR API, you agree to the terms and conditions of:

(1) these Search-Specific Google Researcher Program Terms;
(2) the Google Researcher Program Acceptable Use Policy at https://requestrecords.google.com/researcher/policy ("AUP");
(3) the documentation at https://support.google.com/websearch?p=searchresearcher ("Documentation"); and (4) the Google APIs Terms of Service at https://developers.google.com/terms ("Google APIs ToS").

(B) To the extent there are any conflicts between the terms, the above order of precedence will apply.

(C) Collectively, we refer to the AUP, the Documentation, the Google APIs ToS, and these Search-Specific Google Researcher Program Terms of Service as the "Terms."

(D) The Terms apply to you, the qualified institution with which you are affiliated, and both your and its employees, representatives, and agents (collectively "you").

(E) You agree to comply with the Terms and that the Terms control your relationship with us.

(F) Unless otherwise stated, capitalized terms not defined in these Search-Specific Google Researcher Program Terms have the meanings given to them in the AUP or Google APIs ToS.

(G) In the AUP:

(1) The term "Program Data" is expanded to include the SRR API and data obtained by you through the SRR API.
(2) The term "Program Access" includes SRR API access, credentials, keys and quotas.

(H) You are granted quotas and access to the SRR API for the period of your Approved Research. Google may revoke your quota and access to the SRR API following your completion of your Approved Research.

(I) Notwithstanding the AUP's Section 3(G) (Program Data Retention), you may not retain data obtained through the SRR API for longer than one year from the date of collection.
